Hepatitis

Hepatitis is a medical condition characterized by inflammation of the liver. It can be caused by a viral infection or by exposure to drugs, toxins, or other harmful substances. There are several types of hepatitis viruses, including hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E. Hepatitis can range from a mild illness with few symptoms to a serious, life-threatening disease. Common symptoms of hepatitis include fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, and yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice). Treatment for hepatitis depends on the type and severity of the illness and may include medications, rest, and lifestyle changes. Vaccines are available to prevent some types of hepatitis, such as hepatitis A and B.
